Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation

Sandy Bay First Nation is about 95 kilometres northwest of Portage la Prairie and, 180 kilometres from the City of Winnipeg.

As of February 2017, the total registered population is 6666 persons, of which 4150 resided on reserve and  2516 persons lived elsewhere.

The community language is Ojibway.

The Sandy Bay Ojibway First Nation is situated on Reserve No. 5, a 16,456 acre site on the western shore of Lake Manitoba. The reserve is accessible by all-weather roads via provincial highways #16 and #50 north from Portage la Prairie.

Long Plain First Nation is located 25 kilometres southwest of Portage La Prairie. Long Plain also has land adjacent to Trans Canada Highway # 1- just outside of Portage La Prairie. On this property houses Long Plain Arrowhead Development Corporation, Offices of DOTC and other organizations.
